Welcome to the Chatham & District Model Railway Club.
70 years old and still growing strong!

The Chatham & District Model Railway Club formed in 1953 has been a popular club within the Medway towns throughout its 70 years.

Having had many different spaces from a building in Rochester High street to a school the club moved into its present location in 1985 and has been there ever since. Within its clubroom it has space for several layouts as well a small library and tea bar. The highlight of the space is a large OO layout featuring almost all the features you would want to build into many individual layouts from branch lines to terminus’ thriving yards and engines sheds to name a few..

The Club meets on Tuesday and Friday nights from about 19:00 where people can be found chatting, researching, modelling, weathering and our favourite activity, playing trains!

Throughout its history the club has also held exhibitions which went large in 1985 when we held our first Chatham Show in the Fitted Rigging house within Chatham Dockyard. before moving to Buckmore Park for a year before returning to the Chatham Dockyard in 5 Slip for the iconic shows through the 2000s.

The Chatham & District Model Railway Club is proudly bringing back the Chatham Show in the venue that many know as being the home of it in 5 Slip at the Chatham Historic Dockyard for a show bigger than ever before.
